Late for Class

It's 5:04 and I'm supposed to be at the PD campus for class with Dr. Baek. Instead I'm waiting for my DVD burner to encode the video for the tonight's presentation for the incoming 6th graders.
It's some version of Murphy's Law that makes technology slow down or simply quit working when the machine senses you are in a rush. "The speed at which technology operates is inversely proportionate to the need of the technology user." ...or something like that. It's an old saying I just made up. At any rate, it's moving at a snail's pace.

This does give me time to read my notes. ...tap, tap, tap...sigh

Hi Kathleen,

I am very glad that you made the class.
Also I have to say that you have made a significant progress in your project development and thesis writing.

Dr. Newberry and I are very happy with the progress you have made.

How is your usability testing going?

Keep up the good work!

Baek

Hi Kathleen,
I think if you're burning the video on an uncompressed resolution ..then yeah it's gonna be slow. Plus if it's like a 10 minute video or longer, then you might as well take a lunch or dinner break, then it should be done when you come back. Like most of us, if you haven't upgraded or buy a new computer with dual core in it, then things tend to be slow, especially if it involves audio and video editing.
